Well 31 year old, mad scientist of film, Richard Kelly will change all that for me. His follow up to Donnie Darko is entitled Southland Tales and the project supposedly will consist of three graphic novels leading up to a three movie continuation... Kevin Smith and Jon Lovitz are other notables involved...
